FA Cup fixture at City Ground next Monday.
Ipswich made light work of Frank Lampard’s Coventry City outfit in the 4
th Round of the FA Cup and recorded a 4-1 victory at the Coventry Building Society Arena on the 8
th of February.
Forest on the other hand, were pushed to the limit en-route to the next stage of the tournament after their 4-2 penalties win against League one side Exeter at St.James’ Park on the 11
th of February.
As Forest led by 2-1 until the 50
th minute, Josh Magennis’ 2
nd half equalizer pushed the game into an extra-time period, where the two sides could not be separated.
Forest coach Nuno Espirito Santo lauded Taiwo Awoniyi’s efforts against Exeter after it was reported that he had broken his nose during the game.
“I think he broke his nose, but he’s walking around smiling. He did an amazing job, he did really well today,” Santo said.
As for Ipswich boss Kieran Mckenna, the former Manchester United coach believes that his side can take the game to any opponent during the latter stages of the tournament.
"There's only 16 teams left now and whoever we get we'll believe that we've got a chance. There's no-one we haven't competed against in terms of the very top teams this season, so let's see who get and let's see if we can do something special,” Mckenna said.
