The
2024 Americas MotoGP is scheduled to be held in the capital of the USA state of Texas, Austin on 14 April.
What to know about the Americas MotoGP
This race has been part of the MotoGP calendar since 2013 and in 2020, it was cancelled due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
It became the third MotoGP round in the USA alongside the Indianapolis Grand Prix at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (which lost its place on the calendar from 2015), and the US Grand Prix at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca (which lost its place on the calendar from 2014).
Most recent race
The Portuguese MotoGP which was the second round of the 2024 MotoGP World Championship calendar took place on 24 March.
The race was won by Ducati rider Jorge Martin followed by his teammate Enea Bastianini while Pedro Acosta of KTM finished third.
Standings
Martin is placed at the top of the 2024 MotoGP riders' standings followed by Brad Binder of KTM and Bastianini respectively.
Looking at the constructors' standings, Ducati, who won the 2023 title, are sitting at the top - followed by KTM and Aprilia respectively.
Favourites
Martin will be the favourite to win the Americas having enjoyed a good start to the 2024 Moto GP season, but he will face stiff competition from Binder and Bastianini.
Reigning MotoGP world champion Francesco Bagnaia and seven-time Americas MotoGP champion Marc Marquez will also compete at the Circuit of the Americas.
