Tiger Woods will be eager to win the
Masters Tournament for the sixth time which would match the record currently held by Jack Nickaus.
What to know about Woods
Widely regarded as one of the greatest golfers of all time, the American icon has so far won 82 official PGA Tour events, including 15 majors.
Woods is 14–1 when going into the final round of a major with at least a share of the lead hence multiple golf experts have heralded Woods as "the greatest closer in history."
News
Woods took a break from competitive golf due to injury after withdrawing from the 2024 Genesis Invitational before that he finished 18th at the 2023 Hero World Challenge.
The former world number one has confirmed that he will compete in the 2024 Masters and he is currently placed 959th on the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR).
Why Woods is one of the favourites
Woods will be making his 26th Masters appearance and in 2023, the five-time champion made more history when he tied Gary Player and Fred Couples for most consecutive Tournament cuts made with 23.
The 48-year-old is now targeting his first Masters victory since 2019 when finished 13 under par to clinch the trophy by one stroke over his compatriots Dustin Johnson, Xander Schauffele and Brooks Koepka.

“He [Woods] played great today," Will Zalatoris - the 2021 Masters runner-up - said after practising with Woods at the Augusta National Golf Club.
" He outdrove me a couple of times so there was some chirping going on. So, you know, he looks great. He’s moving as well as he can be. Again, with everything he’s gone through, it’s pretty amazing to see how good he’s swinging it.”
