SSC Napoli will renew their rivalry with AS Roma in a mouthwatering
Serie A match at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on 28 April.
Current Form
The Little Donkeys suffered a 1-0 loss to Empoli away on 20 April and they are now winless in their last two matches in the Italian top-flight.
Napoli are also winless in their last three home matches in the league having registered two draws and one victory at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
Meanwhile, Roma succumbed to a 3-1 loss to Bologna FC at home on 22 April and their seven-match unbeaten run in the Serie A came to an end.
The Wolves are unbeaten in their last five away matches in the league having registered two draws and three successive wins on the road.
Team News
Mathias Olivera is the only player on Napoli's injury list at the moment and the Little Donkeys have no suspension issues.
Roma, on the other hand, could be without the injured duo of Evan Ndicka and Romelu Lukaku, but the Wolves also do not have any suspension concerns.
Quotes
"I apologise to the Napoli fans and everyone who supports us. We were soft and meek, unlike Empoli, who played very aggressively," Napoli manager Francisco Calzona said after his side's defeat to Empoli.
"There's no excuse for our attitude today and I take responsibility for it. Clearly, I wasn't able to give the team the right mentality. The club lets us work in peace, so all the blame lies entirely at my doorstep and at the players'.
"We must play with pride in our remaining games. “I can only thank our fans for all the support they're giving us. Even when they protest, they do it with passion. Now we need to rediscover our pride and show we deserve to play for this club.”
Head-to-Head
Roma secured a 2-0 win over Napoli in their last meeting in Serie A which was played on 23 December 2023 at the Stadio Olimpico.
The win ended the Wolves' seven-match winless run in the league against the Little Donkeys who had recorded five wins and two draws.
