Scottie Scheffler will be determined to win the
Tour Championship for the first time and clinch his maiden FedEx Cup.
What to know about Scheffler
The American star won The Players Championship in 2023 and 2024, becoming the first to win the title in back-to-back years.
Scheffler claimed also his second major championship at the 2024 Masters Tournament and won the gold medal in the men's individual tournament at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
News
The talented golfer was in action at the recent BMW Championship where he was not at his best as he finished 33rd.
However, Scheffler is still placed at the top of the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) having spent over 100 weeks in the position.
Why Scheffler is among the favourites
The 28-year-old holds the FedEx Cup lead entering the Tour Championship for the third consecutive year and finished T2 and T6 in 2022 and 2023, respectively.
Scheffler, who has six PGA Tour events this season, has what it takes to make it seven victories when tees off at the East Lake Golf Club.
Quotes
"It's frustrating when you feel like you're doing stuff that's good and it's not turning out the way you intend it to," Scheffler said after the 2024 BMW Championship.
"I remember on No. 10 I felt like I was hitting it in the rough way too often. Hit it in the rough there again, hit it in the water."
