Marcel Siem will be determined to record his eighth professional win by clinching the
AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open title.
What to know about Siem
The German golfer has won seven professional tournaments since he turned pro in 2000 and came through Qualifying School to join the European Tour in 2002.
Siem is best known for winning the 2006 World Cup of Golf paired with Bernhard Langer and he has won five events that are part of the European Tour.

The 43-year-old participated in last month's 2023 DP World Tour Championship in the UAE which saw him finish 45th and he took a break from professional golf.
Siem is currently placed 151st on the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR), and his best OWGR is 48th.

The experienced golfer is based in Bel-Ombre, Mauritius and he is familiar with the Heritage Golf Club.
Siem ended his long wait for a fifth DP World Tour victory as he won the 2023 Hero Indian Open by a single shot in February and he will be targeting another win at home.

"This means a lot because two years ago I wasn't even sure if I could still compete on the DP World Tour and now I'm a winner again, come on," Siem said after winning the Hero Indian Open.
“I just made it a little bit too difficult and 18 was really tough out there. First of all, this golf course doesn’t allow you to make any mistakes so the pressure is on anyhow and then Yannik (Paul) and Joost (Luiten) were just pushing.
"I know Joost has gone for everything and I thought he’s going to make eagle on the last and then who knows what that happens. It could be a three-man playoff or whatever.”
