Tottenham will look to cement their place in the top four when they welcome Wolves to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, February 17.

Spurs reclaimed fourth position from Aston VIlla after beating Brighton 2-1 in the capital on February 10 to go three games unbeaten in the Premier League, with the Villains losing 2-1 at home to Manchester United the following day.

Ange Postecoglou's side went a point clear of Villa and themselves five behind Arsenal (3rd) and Manchester City (2nd), while Liverpool are a further two ahead at the league summit.

The Gunners hammered West Ham 6-0 at the London Stadium and the Citizens ran out 2-0 victors over Everton at the Etihad Stadium, with the Reds defeating Burnley 3-1 at Anfield.

Wanderers slumped to their 10th loss of the season after going down 2-0 to Brentford at Molineux on February 10, which left them in 10th spot, three points adrift of the Seagulls (9th).

The Black Country outfit saw Fulham (12th) close within three points of them courtesy of a 3-1 win against Bournemouth (13th) at Craven Cottage as the two teams swapped places in the table.

In team news, Manor Solomon (knee) and Ryan Sessegnon (thigh) remain long-term absentees for the hosts, although Giovani Lo Celso (thigh) could make his return to action. The visitors continue to be without Matheus Cunha (hamstring), but Hwang Hee-Chan (calf) might come back into contention.

Postecoglou was pleased to get a reaction from his players after going into the half-time break 1-0 down to Albion, though he insisted there is plenty to improve upon if they want to reach their goals this term.

"The players have showed bags of character all through the year dealing with things, whether that's in game or trying to get results, and it was there again, we pushed them right until the end and I've a real belief if we keep pushing, we'll get the outcome," he told SPURSPLAY.

"There was a lot I didn't enjoy today. We were really poor in the first half. Some of that was Brighton are a very good side and very disciplined, well coached, and we lacked a real discipline and took some liberties with and without the ball. That was really disappointing.

"The second half was better. We had a good response. Obviously, when you are chasing the game, you're always susceptible to counter-attacks, but I thought for the most part we handled it okay and probably just edge it in the end, deserved the points, but plenty to work on."

Wolves head coach Gary O’Neil admitted his players were well below the standards set in recent weeks when they did the league double over Chelsea and held Brighton to a goalless draw.

"We've done a really good job as a group. The group have done an unbelievable job maintaining a high level generally. Absolutely gutted we fell below it today and the players will be as well," O’Neil said.

"So using the elation of last week and what we managed to produce compared to how we feel now to make sure we perform better than we did today. There were factors which contributed, but if we look at the performance as a whole, it was obviously nowhere near good enough."
