Max Homa will be hoping to become the first golfer to win back-to-back Farmers Insurance Open titles since Tiger Woods between 2005 and 2008.
What to know about Homa
The American star has won nine professional tournaments since he turned pro in 2013 after winning the individual NCAA Division I
Men's Golf Championship.
Homa has clinched six trophies that are part of the PGA Tour and his best performance in a golf major came at the 2023 Open Championship where he finished 10th.

The California-born golfer took a short break from golf after competing in the 2024 Sentry Tournament of Champions where he finished 14th.
Therefore, Homa is placed seventh on the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) ahead of the Farmers Insurance Open and his best overall ranking is fifth.
Why Homa is among the favourites
The former University of California student is coming into the Farmers Insurance Open having won the 2023 Nedbank Golf Challenge in November - a European Tour event.
Homa came from behind with a final round six-under-par 66 for a two-shot win in last's Farmers Insurance Open and he will be keen to replicate the same form this week.
