AS Roma will be desperate for a win when they face off with Hellas Verona in a
Serie A encounter at the Stadio Olimpico on 20 January.
Current Form
The Wolves succumbed to a 3-1 defeat to AC Milan away on 14 January as they extended their winless run to three matches in the Italian top-tier.
However, Roma are undefeated in their last eight home matches in the league having recorded six wins and two draws at the Stadio Olimpico.
Meanwhile, Verona claimed a 2-1 win over Empoli FC at home on 13 January as they snapped their two-match winless run in the Serie A.
However, the Yellow and Blues are winless in their last nine away matches in the league having registered two draws and seven defeats on the road.
Team News
Roma players Tammy Abraham, Chris Smalling, Renato Sanches, Paulo Dybala, and Marash Kumbulla are all out injured while their teammates Houssem Aouar, Sardar Azmoun and Evan Ndicka are on national duty.
On the other hand, Michael Folorunsho is the only player on Verona's injury list, but his teammates Diego Coppola, Darko Lazovic and Ondrej Duda are all suspended.
Quotes
“I think that today our attitude and organisation was on point, because at the start we were playing well," Roma striker Andrea Belotti said after his side's defeat to AC Milan.
"They started getting into gear and when they scored it knocked us sideways. After conceding the second we upped the ante and that’s why we were able to get back into the game.
“We pressed on and I thought that we would get a draw because we were playing decently – I could see that everyone was doing well. Our goal gave us a jolt, some peace of mind and the freedom to go for them more. However, their third goal took the wind out of our sails.”
Head-to-Head
Verona claimed a 2-1 win over Roma in their last meeting in the Serie A which was on 26 August 2023 at the Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi.
The win saw the Yellow and Blues snap their three-match winless run in the league against the Wolves who had recorded two wins in a row and a draw.
