The American golfer has won once on the PGA Tour since turning professional in 2015 and he has also earned two wins on the European Tour.
Kitayama's best major finish was finishing fourth at the 2023 PGA Championship with his compatriot Brooks Koepka winning the tournament.

The man nicknamed the Project will return to competitive golf for the first time since he finished 39th at the 2024 Genesis Invitational.
The Project is currently ranked 37th on the Official World Golf Rankings and his best OWGR ranking is the 19th spot.

All eyes will be on the 31-year-old who earned his first PGA Tour victory by winning the 2024 Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Kitayama recorded an even-par final round of 72 to finish nine-under at the top and successfully follow up his overnight lead, and he will be hoping to replicate the same form this weekend.

"Ecstatic. I've been dreaming of this for a while. I've been close and to finally get it done feels amazing," Kitayama said after winning the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
"For the most part, I was feeling in control. One loose swing there and maybe a bad kick left, it just happened. My heart was pumping, but being in those situations in the past definitely helped.
"I found myself walking super-fast and then I was like, 'Slow down, just take a minute', and that really helped."
