2023/24 English Premier League
Matchday 36
Liverpool v Tottenham Hotspur
Anfield
Liverpool, England
Sunday, 5 May 2024
Kick-off is at 17h30
A massive three points will be up for grabs when Liverpool host Tottenham at Anfield on Sunday, May 5 in the late kick-off.
The Reds have seen their title hopes drift away following a poor run of results in recent weeks as they picked up just eight points out of a possible 18 in the month of April.
A 2-2 draw with West Ham at the London Stadium on April 27 left Jurgen Klopp's side five points adrift of
Premier League leaders Arsenal and four behind Manchester City, who have a game in hand.
The Gunners beat fierce North London rivals Spurs 3-2 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on April 28 and the Citizens ran out 2-0 victors over Nottingham Forest at the City ground a couple of hours later.
Ange Postecoglou's side have handed the advantage to Aston Villa in the race for a top-four finish after back-to-back defeats placed them seven points shy of the final UEFA Champions League berth, although they do have two games in hand.

In team news, the hosts continue to be without Joel Matip (knee), Thiago Alcantara (thigh), Diogo Jota (groin) and Conor Bradley (ankle), while Destiny Udogie, Ryan Sessegnon, Timo Werner (all thigh), Fraser Forster (ankle) and Manor Solomon (knee) are unavailable for the visitors.
Klopp admits the Merseysiders' title prospects don't look great, but insists they need to win their remaining three games to at least give themselves a chance.
"I don't think about it really. So, I said before, we need to win our games. We didn't win the game. That doesn't improve our situation now massively," the German said.
"Do they (Manchester City and Arsenal) look like they will lose two or three games? No, I don't think so but, honestly, I'm not angry or whatever ... I don't think about it. It's just we have to win football games and let's see what that means in the end."

Postecoglou acknowledged his players lacked focus in key moments during the first half as they conceded three goals in the opening 38 minutes against Arsenal.
"Look, it's a disappointing outcome for us. It's a big day for the club, a big day for our fans and we didn't get the outcome we wanted, so obviously it's a very disappointing day," he told SPURSPLAY.
"It was about a general understanding of big games, big moments, we just lacked some focus today, particularly in the first half in those key moments and it's stuff we've got to learn and sometimes you've got to feel the pain of it to learn that lesson properly."
