Red Bull Racing's Max Verstappen has a chance to equal the record for most wins in a Formula One season at the
United States Grand Prix on Sunday, October 22.
The reigning three-time World Champion holds that record after winning a remarkable 15 races in 2022 to surpass the tally of 13 that was achieved by Michael Schumacher (2004) and Sebastian Vettel (2013).
Verstappen could reach another milestone in Austin, Texas after claiming his 49th career victory in the Qatar Grand Prix when he off the challenge of McLaren-Mercedes duo Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris to celebrate a third successive title.
The Dutchman had already set a new record for most consecutive wins (10) before that run came to an end with a P5 in the Singapore Grand Prix on September 17.
Verstappen is seeking to win at the Circuit of the Americas for the third year running and revealed that he continues to strive to become a better driver despite dominating the scene in the last two years.

Asked whether he would prefer a closer title challenge like in 2021, the 26-year-old told Sky Sports F1: "Yes and no. I mean, yes, to fight different teams.
"But on the other hand, I also really challenge myself. I really try to get the best out of myself every single weekend.
"I try to look at things that I can do better and I try to improve as a driver, which I think is also great because you have all this success, right?
"But every single year you learn and you become better as a driver, not necessarily faster, but probably you can handle situations a bit better because of your experience and you learn from your difficult moments, your good moments.
"I think as a driver you have them all, you have bad moments, good moments. That's what makes this sport, I think, also so beautiful."
