Oscar Piastri admits there is a measure of excitement as he looks to cement McLaren's position at the top of the Constructors' Championship at the United States Grand Prix on Sunday, October 20.
The Australian is enjoying a fine second season in Formula One, having claimed his maiden win at the Hungary Grand Prix and repeating the feat at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
Piastri has finished above McLaren team-mate Lando Norris on seven occasions in 2024 and trails the Brit by 42 points in fourth place, with the gap to Ferrari's Charles Leclerc (3rd) sitting at just eight points.

The 23-year-old driver joined Norris on the podium for the third time this year with his P3 at the Singapore Grand Prix which saw McLaren open up a 41-point lead to Red Bull in the Constructors' standings.
Piastri is feeling confident going into the final six races as he's already experienced driving on many of those tracks last year and hopes to aid McLaren's quest to win a ninth Constructors' title.

"I'm feeling good. Things have been going well since Miami, but since the summer break, it's been really good," he said during an event at the McLaren Technology Centre.
"I've been on a roll, and the car has been performing well everywhere, which is really encouraging. In these final six races, I'll be going to a lot of tracks for the second time, which should make my life a little easier.
"I am excited. The aim is to win the Constructors' Championship and get us both as high up in the Drivers' Championship as possible."
