Among many promising talents on the current PGA tour, Kevin Yu will likewise look to impress at the
2024 Shriners Children’s Open later this month.
What to know about Yu
Yu currently occupies 71
st position on the PGA World ranking and will head into the Shriners Children’s Open on the back of an impressive Sanderson Farms Championship win earlier this month.
The 26-year-old secured back-to-back 10s earlier this season and in turn, got into the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. However, Yu took part in just one of those events and finished in 90
th position at the FedEx Cup.
However, as a reward for his impressive year, Yu recently secured himself a PGA Tour Membership to 2026.
What did he say
After clinching the Sanderson Farms Championship in October, his first PGA Tour event, Yu described the victory as a dream come true while he looks ahead to the upcoming Shriners Children’s Open.
"It's literally a dream come true. I've been dreaming of this since I was five years old," said Yu.
"I set a goal today, I thought if I could shoot five or six under I'd have a good chance. I was just focused on that and do the best I could on every shot and I did a pretty good job," Yu concluded after his victory.
