Jorge Martin will be eager to exert pressure on his defending champion Francesco Bagnaia by winning the
2023 Japanese MotoGP title.

The Ducati Prima Pramac Racing rider mounted a serious challenge for the recent 2023 Indian MotoGP title on 24 September.
Martin, who is nicknamed Martinator, started second on the grid and went on to finish as the runner-up which saw him accumulate 20 important points.
Standings
The 2021 Styrian motorcycle Grand Prix champion is still placed second on the riders' standings having collected 279 points from 13 races.
Martin is just 13 points behind leader Francesco Bagnaia of Ducati with seven races left in the current campaign.
Why Martin could win the 2023 Japanese MotoGP
The former Gresini Racing rider is in good form at the moment having secured a podium in each of the last three races including a win at the 2023 San Marino MotoGP.
Martin, who finished third in the 2022 Japanese MotoGP, will be determined to continue his good form by winning this year's race.
What did he say?
“You have to trust me when I say I gave my 100%. I was dehydrated when there were eight laps to go," Martin said after the Indian MotoGP.
"So it was really difficult to finish the race. Even though I was able to keep a good pace, in the last lap I made a big mistake because of the dehydration. So, I ran wide and Fabio overtook me.
"But I could overtake back and I’m very happy to take this second position. We recovered some points in the championship," he added.
"I think we need to keep the same mentality as we did coming here, trying to win, trying to be fast in all the practices and this is the way to close that gap.”
